Through the first two games of the season, Miikka Kiprusoff has faced a total of 76 shots. Not exactly the defensive performance the Flames were looking for under new head coach Brent Sutter.

Kiprusoff has backstopped the team to two straight victories to start the year—and allowed six goals in those games—so the good news is he's up to snuff despite being a notoriously slow starter.

It would help if his teammates sped up their performance in the early season.

Granted, there are adjustments to be made when a new head coach comes in and tries to implement a system and structure that was lacking the last couple of seasons under Mike Keenan, but the Flames are supposed to be shooting for a top spot in the league in goals against.
